This course is designed for experienced professionals in the early childhood education and care sector who wish to upgrade their skills and knowledge to the latest CHC30121 qualification. The short duration of the course acknowledges the extensive industry experience of participants, and content is delivered to small groups online. All observations and practical demonstrations are completed in your centre, allowing for a seamless integration of learning and practice.

Diploma of Early
Childhood Education and Care
(CHC50121)

If you’re an experienced early childhood educator and carer, take responsibility for other educators and carers, and already hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121 or CHC30113) then the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121) is the right course for you.

This course will grow and improve your skills and knowledge to progress your career with Guardian to become an incredible leader in early childhood education and care with the potential for a higher salary.

This qualification will take you 18 months to complete.

You must complete a minimum of 160 workplace hours for this qualification.

This qualification will take you between 12 and 24 months to complete.

You must complete a minimum of 280 workplace hours for this qualification.

At SSTS we use a blended approach to deliver your training. Trainers will deliver and demonstrate the skills and knowledge for the qualification in your workplace. Your assessments will be completed online and all the resources you need to support your learning are available online.

You will have a meeting with your trainer once a month to discuss your progress and to resolve any questions or concerns that you may have.

You receive your qualification after you have successfully completed your course by demonstrating competency in each of the learning units (known as units of competency) that you undertake. There are 17 units of competency to complete the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and there are 15 units of competency to complete the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

For most of our Guardian Employees, there will be no cost for you to enrol in the qualifications. As there are different types of Government funding in each State, the team at SSTS will run you through the options to ensure you have zero or very low out of pocket expenses.

Where funding is unavailable for Guardian team members, the Guardian Around Centre Support Team will review on a case by case basis and try to cover expenses where possible.

Yes! The Australian Government will incentivise you to enrol! If you are a new starter at Guardian enrolling into a traineeship you may be eligible to receive $1,250 per quarter for the 18 months of your course if you are full-time or $625 per quarter for the 18 months of your course if you are part-time.

Yes there is, however Guardian will provide you with paid time away from work duties to complete some homework.
